Rejected petition Prevent Facebook from requesting official Government Approved ID
More details
This morning, I was innocently browsing my 100% legitimate Facebook account, when I was locked out of it and asked to present a picture of some official ID such as a driving licence to prove that I am who I have been claiming to be for the last 8 years.
I refuse to provide Facebook with this information, and I do not see any reason why they should request it in the first place. I am now going to lose 8 years worth of pictures and memories, and contact with people all over the world, and I am deeply sad about this, but I don't feel comfortable providing Facebook with this sensitive and personal information and I feel it should not be allowed.
