Ban sunbeds outright due to the high risk of health risks and the cost that skin cancers and related health complications cost the NHS in which sunbeds are a major contributor.

There has been many previous calls for this. Many young people are attempting to seek a beauty standard which is costing people their lives through cancer in which sunbeds are a large contributor playing into that fact.

    Have you had a bad experience of a beauty product or treatment in the UK?

    MPs on the Science, Innovation and Technology Committee are investigating this issue for their inquiry: The science and regulation of hair and beauty products and treatments. They are hoping to hear from people with first-hand experience.

    They would like to hear about your experiences, including:

    • How confident did you feel before using these products and treatments?
    • Did you feel you had the information you needed to use them safely?
    • What were the outcomes?

    Your responses will inform the Committee’s understanding and work on this issue.

    At the end of the inquiry, it will publish a report with recommendations for the Government.

    The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology must then respond to the report.
