Rejected petition We call on the government to postpone the vote on the Assisted Dying Bill

We urge the Government and Parliament to take a more inclusive and democratic approach to the Assisted Dying Bill. Rather than rushing the vote on 29 November 2024, we request a postponement to allow for comprehensive public consultation.

More details

Recent reports from Canada highlight the risks of a slippery slope, where the scope of assisted dying legislation has been significantly widened to include many more individuals than initially anticipated. given the lack of any impact assessment on how this legislation could affect the UK, especially in light of the NHS's ongoing challenges, the postcode lottery in accessing palliative care, and the mental health crisis gripping the country.

we call for a national referendum on the matter.
