Rejected petition We want those with Settled Status in the UK to get the right to vote.
We want Parliament to debate this and give those with Settled Status the franchise.
More details
We are a team of people, seeking to give the Settled Status a vote. Settled Status is a permanent status given to EU citizens to indefinitely (permanently) reside in the UK.
Their rights include are right to work, education, rent/buy property and receive benefits, healthcare services, including the NHS.
However, the right to vote is restricted to this minority (unless they become a British citizen which is costly and requires document).
This is a growing issue arising in recent years especially with the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine and the EU Referendum, research has shown that it is likely the outcome would have changed if they had this right.
