Id like a law passing that anyone trying to hide their identity or obscure themselves from surveillance/police, is immediately arrested and face a potential criminal charge under the breach of national security banner, or as hindering a police officer Police Act 1996, section 89(2).

Since the end of covid, protestors have been using masks and face coverings to hide from facial recognition systems and to wilfully avoid the law, this is a deliberate attempt to subvert security systems and to gain anonymity to behave as they want.
There is no rules in force that mean these people have to wear a mask, and attending a demo/protest with 1000's of other people nullify's the health concern.
