Rejected petition The Speaker must insist ministers always give relevant answers to MPs' questions

MPs' questions to ministers rarely get relevant answers. The norm now is deflection without any proper replies. This is particularly true of Prime Minister's Questions. If a minister attempts to avoid giving a relevant answer to a question the Speaker should insist that a proper answer is given.

More details

The situation that I have outlined has become an affront to democracy as, if ministers avoid giving relevant answers to legitimate questions, they are not giving the electorate the answers that their MPs are asking on their behalf & that they are entitled to. PMQs in particular has become a mockery of democracy & the accountability of those that rule us.

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament as a whole aren't responsible for the issue you raise. Order in the Commons is the responsibility of the Speaker personally, and the Prime Minister is responsible for answers to questions.
