Rejected petition Equality Act 2010 - (Disability) NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE

The current Labour Government has recently announced that it wants those who are disabled to find employment and those on long term sick leave to return to work.

More details

I work for a large company, with many premises around the UK. In my location, there are over 200 employees, with over 100 that are employed to do the same job as me. My employer has a ‘Disability Aware’ award, yet, despite this, we are ALL expected to do the same. Reasonable adjustments, implemented in an empathetic way, with a view to the employees strengths, would certainly go a long way to levelling the uphill struggle many are experiencing daily, especially those in low paid manual jobs.
