Closed Make CRB / DBS checks have an expiry date

Currently There is no official expiry date for a criminal record check issued by DBS.

Any information revealed on a DBS certificate will be accurate only at the time the certificate was issued.

If someone providing childminding services, or someone linked to that setting, is convicted after the dated CRB/DBS check parents/carers have no way of knowing this.

Anyone can wilfully misrepresent the situation and not give parents an informed view by re-using an old CRB undertaken prior to a conviction.

I want it to be made compulsary for CRB / DBS checks to be renewed every 12 months and parents / carers to be informed of any change in status
