Petition Require restaurant chains to provide Braille and accessible menus

We want legislation requiring restaurant chains to provide Braille, large-print, and digital menus so visually impaired diners can make independent choices. We believe accessible menus foster equality and prevent exclusion and that there must be enforcement measures to ensure compliance.

More details

When dining out, many visually impaired people may need to rely on someone else to read the menu aloud or resort to guesswork. Over 2 million UK residents are visually impaired, with around 340,000 registered as blind or partially sighted. Many avoid dining out due to inaccessible menus, and many feel embarrassed asking for help. We believe Braille menus are low-cost but life changing. The Equality Act 2010 mandates equal access, and this would uphold dignity, autonomy, and inclusion for all.
