Petition Review and extend Sunday Trading Hours
We call on Parliament to review and amend Sunday trading laws to allow shops to open for longer. We think current restrictions are outdated and do not reflect modern lifestyles or economic needs.
More details
We think extending Sunday trading hours would:
• Create more jobs and income opportunities for workers.
• Boost the economy by increasing business revenue and tax contributions.
• Provide consumers with greater flexibility and convenience.
Other countries have modernized their trading laws successfully. We think it’s time for the UK to follow suit and support businesses, workers, and shoppers alike.

Explainer
Westminster Hall debates give MPs an opportunity to debate a topic of their choice, and receive a response from the Government.
They are a way to:
- raise awareness of an issue
- seek to influence government policy
- put the views of backbench MPs, political parties, and the Government on record.
They do not involve a vote on a particular action or decision.
