Petition Review the legislation relating to asylum and refugees entering the UK

We would like the government to undertake a comprehensive review of the of the Asylum Act 1991, the 1951 UN Convention on refugees and any other legislation to ensure the legal frameworks for refugees and asylum seeks arriving in the UK are still for for purpose.

More details

We think the UK has a proud history of providing refuge to those in need. However, we think it is imperative to recognise that the world has changed significantly since these legal frameworks were established. We think that updating these laws could ensure the nation continues to uphold its humanitarian values whilst maintaining public confidence in our immigration system.
