Rejected petition Agree not to means test the triple lock on pensions now or into the future

Labour have today (18 January) not ruled out means testing of triple lock pensions. This is unacceptable. Former working people have paid into the system & the state pension is not a benefit to be viewed as a ‘free’ fund to be cut by governments. Current/future pensioners need urgent assurances.

More details

Pensioners face financial struggles when they retire and need confidence that the ruling government will not add to their concerns.

It’s unacceptable for governments to continue to pick the pockets of pensioners when there are better choices to limit commitments to overseas projects, improve efficiencies in the Civil Services, tax big business more fairly, reduce or eliminate subsidies and expenses in Parliament and concerns over the size, constitution and value from the House of Lords.
