Petition Remove the expensive car supplement for secondhand cars
We don't want the expensive car supplement to Vehicle Excise Duty rate to apply to secondhand cars to account for the depreciation of value.
More details
We don't think its fair that under current policy, someone could save money to purchase a second hand car, which is no longer worth £40,000 and then have to pay £425 per annum on top of the standard VED.
We think that cars depreciate in value and that people buying secondhand cars should not be penalised for trying to save money.
