Currently, alcoholic beverages are exempt from the labelling requirements of all other foodstuffs.

Nutritional labelling would permit consumers to better judge and compare the dietary effects of consuming specific beverages.

In particular, carbohydrate content would be very useful for diabetics and calorie content useful for those watching their weight.
