Rejected petition Illegal immigrants should not have a path to UK citizenship.

We do not want Illegal Immigration Act 2023 repealed by the Border Security Bill.

Specifically those measures contained within it that protect U.K. citizens and legal immigrants.

More details

It is the Governments first duty to protect its citizens and those who are here legally.

The changes proposed will encourage the gangs and not ‘smash’ them. The removal of scientific age assessment tests will put school children and foster parents at risk.

More people will die making the crossing if they are incentivised by citizenship and the privileges that affords them.

Becoming a U.K. citizenship should be a privilege and not a right gained through illegal means.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call for a clear action. The Government has said that any person applying for UK citizenship after 10 February 2025 who entered the UK illegally will normally be refused, regardless of the time passed since their illegal entry.

We are not clear what measures you are referring to in the Border Security Bill. An explanation of the Bill is available here: https://researchbriefings.files.parliament.uk/documents/CBP-10185/CBP-10185.pdf

You could start a petition setting out clearly what you would like to happen.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
