Closed petition: Fund childminders to access publicly funded courses beyond level 3

We want the Government to provide funding to ensure that childminders can access the same government funded courses as staff in other early years settings, such as nurseries or schools.

I have gone from working in nursery, nannying, childminder and I cannot extend my knowledge or career without funding it myself. I want to be able to extend my knowledge and career.

As a childminder we are treated the same as any other early years staff in a nursery/school. We have ofsted inspections, we have to make sure we have up to date dbs, first aid, level 3, insurance.

However we do not qualify for any of the government funded courses beyond level 3. We have to pay ourselves or take out a loan.
