Rejected petition Council housing sectors need a shake up! Recognise people's needs for housing
People have a right to be heard or recognised as an individual who require a move within the council. The council have a responsibility to adhere to this. More accountability needed in the system and a duty of care needed to act upon this within their role.
More details
Many people fight to no end with the council to move, they simply have requests ignored.People are a statistic to them, a ticked box. Temporary housing is not temporary. The council housing sector is simply set up to ensure people fail and cannot rise from dire situations. This is not even inclusive of poor living standards in council areas and poor standards of housing. Private renters simply would not escape the responsibility of this the way the council do.
