Rejected petition Installing a pelican crossing at the A2 junction, next to Greenwich south street

Install a pelican crossing at the A2 junction between greenwich south street, blackheath hill and lewisham road to help pedestrians cross the road more safely. A pelican crossing will help keep communities safe, connect lewisham and greenwich and create a better impression for visiting tourists.

More details

The junction is currently unsafe for crossing, there is no way to know when to cross except for constantly checking hundreds of cars coming from different directions. The pavement island in the middle of the road is much too small leaving people too close to the cars. It is a busy junction with hundreds of pedestrians crossing everyday, with lots of children and young people. People have to wait for up to 10 minutes to fully cross the road and have to do it in parts.
