Rejected petition The Road Traffic Act 1988, to include stopping for cats.

I would like the Government to include stopping for a cat if you hit one whilst driving, leaving someone’s loved pet to die on the side of the road is cruel and should be deemed as an unlawful act.

More details

On the 25th March 2025 my beloved cat Eddie was hit by a road user and left to died on the side of the road, the driver didn’t stop to recover Eddie or even to call me; my number was on his collar along with my address. I feel this should be reviewed on The Road Traffic Act 1988 to give Cats the dignity and respect they deserve.
