Rejected petition Overrule the supreme courts decision to define woman as biological sex
Overrule the supreme courts decision to define woman as biological sex and instead define it as the secondary sexual characteristics of a female.
Legally defining biological sex leaves transgender individuals, and those other hormonal disorders open to discrimination.
More details
We feel that transgender and intersex people should be able to adopt the appropriate roles in society that match their gender identity and not be segregated by their gender reassignment - however with the new definition of biological sex there is no way to protect them without outing them as transgender which is a risk to personal security.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
The UK Government cannot change court judgements but could introduce new legislation about this.
We already have a petition open calling for the Government to amend the Equality Act to define the terms woman and man not based on biological sex.
