We think the government needs to introduce better support for those with chronic illnesses, including statutory sick pay for any time off relating to the illness from the first day of being off sick. We think those who can provide evidence of a chronic condition should not have to financially suffer

At the moment, we feel there is not enough financial help for those with chronic conditions. Although PIP is available for some, some people with chronic conditions do not qualify as they aren't affected all the time. Many with chronic conditions may experience flare ups leaving them unable to work, and without access to financial support can leave people in debt.
