Rejected petition: The People of the UK Demand a General Election Now

Rejected on

We, the undersigned, call on Parliament to urgently debate the need for a general election.

The current Government has repeatedly demonstrated an inability to govern:

It has:
• Failed to deliver on key promises made during the Brexit referendum.
• Misled the public on multiple occasions in its manifesto.eroding trust.
• Consistently made decisions contrary to the democratic will of the people.

This Government no longer holds a legitimate mandate. A general election is essential to restore democratic accountability and allow the public to decide who is fit to lead the country.
