Rejected petition Make the ND symbol a legally recognised accessibility icon in the UK
We ask the UK Government to formally adopt a symbol to represent neurodivergent access needs. The “ND” brain icon should be added to accessibility standards and used across public spaces, websites, and services to signal inclusion and sensory awareness.
More details
Millions of neurodivergent people face access barriers daily, but there’s no standard way to show that a space considers their needs. Just as we have symbols for wheelchair access and hearing support, it’s time for neurodivergent visibility. This symbol would promote dignity, understanding, and practical inclusion.
This petition was rejected
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We're not sure whether you would like the Government to introduce a system for checking and confirming public services, or businesses, meet certain accessibility requirements for neurodiversity, or something else.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, you could set out clearly any requirements that you would like to be introduced for the use of this symbol.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
