Rejected petition: Ensure the TV licence is not tied to council tax

Rejected on

On behalf of the british public, I would like the government to ensure that the TV Licence fee does not become tied to council tax upon the renewal of the BBC charter.

It would not be fair to expect the public who do not use live TV services to pay the TV Licence fee through their council tax.

Further more expecting those in a higher band home to subsidise the licence fee of others is unacceptable.

The BBC should be forced to move to an advertising or subscription model and stop harassing those of us who do not use their services or see value in them.
