Closed petition: Require schools to allow students to wear skirts
Closed on
Some schools are removing skirts entirely from uniforms, erasing choice under the guise of equality. We think this isn’t inclusion, it’s control. Let’s stand together and demand that this be debated now.
We think uniforms shouldn’t be used to enforce conformity and banning skirts could limit self-expression and set a precedent for further restrictions.
We think preventing students wearing skirts could:
Over-centralise control: Imposes blanket policies that ignore local community values.
Stifle debate: Eliminates parents’ and students’ voices in uniform decisions.
Erase individuality: Denies young people the choice to express themselves.
Distract from core education: Focuses energy on appearance over learning.
Mislabel conformity as equality: True inclusion offers options, not bans.
