Closed petition: Review and reform education system based on Finland's to improve accessibility

Closed on

I want the government to review, learn from and adapt principles and pedagogy from Finland's education system to reform our own. Remove standardised tests until age 16, relax the curriculum for more flexibility for individual schools and teachers, limit homework, increase play and exploration time.

I believe the current approach to education is not conducive to accessibility and inclusion for disabled and neurodivergent pupils, with foundations in more Victorian-era approaches to having children sit still, quiet and eyes to the front. I'm also concerned about what I see as free market ideology principles reflected in education, such as in league tables and a set national curriculum. I am late diagnosed autistic/ADHD, I hated school and felt restricted.
