Rejected petition Restrict access to NHS services to UK legal residents & taxpayers only.
Prohibit access to NHS services to anyone who is not a UK born citizen, or legal tax-paying foreigner who have paid into the system for a prescribed number of years - such as 5.This restriction to access would include illegal migrants, refugees & asylum seekers, & those in the UK on temporary visas
More details
The NHS is funded by UK residents. Its primary function should be to provide healthcare to those who contribute to the system. Offering free NHS services to illegal migrants, asylum seekers & non-tax paying foreigners undermines this principle. It is burdening a system that is already under immense strain with long waiting lists, understaffed facilities & funding shortages. It deprives essential resources from Britons who should be prioritised but who struggle to obtain quality & timely medical care as a result.
