Rejected petition Any legislation to lower the UK voting age must be put to a general referendum.

Pass legislation within the current parliamentary term, and before any legislation to the contrary is passed, that will ensure that any proposal to reduce the UK voting age below 18 years is put to a yes/no referendum.

More details

Because it seems ridiculous that persons under the age of 18 are currently designated as children and as such are currently unable to:- stand for election, buy cigarettes, vapes or alcohol , fight in the armed forces or drive any vehicle. Yet current government proposals are that those same persons should be able to participate in deciding the government, and thus it's manifesto commitments.
