Rejected petition pay women’s footballers the same amount as men footballers

The government can reduce the gender wage gap by enforcing equal pay laws, requiring salary transparency, supporting pay audits, and investing in women's education and leadership. These actions promote fairness and ensure equal pay for equal work across all occupations.

More details

for gender equality, all football teams should be paying their players based on skill not by gender.some women are having to work multiple jobs aswell as football just to afford to live a healthy, comfortable lifestyle.if these players do not work the multiple other jobs they may not be able to afford a home, food, clothing or water and electricity bills. This will effect they way their mental and physical health.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

Petitions must call for a specific action that the UK Government or House of Commons is responsible for.

Decisions about salaries for footballers are a matter for football clubs, not the Government or House of Commons.

As a result it is not possible for the Government or House of Commons to take the action you have requested.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
