Rejected petition: Guarantee toilet access for menstruating pupils in all UK schools

Rejected on

We call on the UK Government to require all schools to allow menstruating pupils access to toilets at any time during the school day.

Make The Department for Education should issue national guidance to ensure menstruating pupils are never denied access to toilets.

Some schools operate policies of locking toilets during lesson time, which can prevent pupils from managing their periods in a safe and dignified way. This can cause anxiety, embarrassment, missed lessons, and harm to mental health.
