At a time when the very freedoms of journalism and our way of life are being challenged, it is the role of the BBC to take the lead in journalistic integrity and show that we will not be subdued. This issue is about freedom of speech and thought, which is the very cornerstone of our society and as such, the nation’s news service should echo those values.
