Rejected petition Prohibit the government from using public money overseas without a referendum
Hold a referendum before donating any taxpayer funds for any purpose overseas, less immediate disaster relief. Restrict the power of ministers to individualy donate taxpayer funds to any country or organisation that is outside of the UK. Large projects inside the UK should also seek that approval.
More details
The UK has a massive debt, is in decline and the tax burden on the citizens is the highest it has been since the second world war.
It is the duty of the UK government to put its citizens and the UK first.
It is irresponsible to spend taxpayer money on any overseas project without taxpayer consent.
We need to reduce the national debt and provide for UK citizens before any overseas aid is considered. So called "Soft Power" is no excuse for delaying and reducing pensions.
