Closed Review “NHS Low Income Scheme Threshold”. It’s still at same level as in 2015.

Universal credit claimants earning below a certain threshold are eligible for support like free prescriptions, dental treatment, opticians care. The threshold hasn’t been increased since 2015, pushing more people over the threshold, when government increases minimum wage and they lose this help.

We think the NHS Low Income Scheme threshold should rise in-line with inflation / living wage. In 2015, it was set at £435 for a single claim & £935 for a couple. In 2025, it remains unchanged. I believe living wage increase is to help people with the cost of living. The threshold should be reviewed and needs 10 years of increases and then set it to increase yearly.
