Rejected petition Make it unconstitutional for any politician to knowingly tell a lie.
It must become unconstitutional for any politician to knowingly tell a lie. If found to have done so or be doing so then they must be expelled as an mp. We live in an age in misinformation and it is important that the public be able to trust what our politicians are telling us.
More details
We live in an age of misinformation, we are adopting and emulating this behaviour from elsewhere and social media is allowing it to be perpetrated as a daily event to the point we become numb and blinded to it. Politicians and political parties along with its members must hold up the highest level of accountability and to be found to be knowingly lying or to have previously told a lie should lead to immediate expulsion from their role. We need to be able to trust and respect politicians.
