Rejected petition: Hold a vote in Parliament before any 'Bathroom Bill' style legislation is passed

Rejected on

We are asking that a Parliamentary vote is held, before any primary legislation is passed that mandates that transgender persons cannot use the toilets of the gender that they live as.

We know that this legislation stands to be harmful to both trans people and gender non confirming cisgender (non transgender people) who some might confuse as being members of another gender.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. Bills that go through Parliament already have to be voted on.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
