Petition Reduced fares for rail replacement bus services
More details
People opt to travel on the train rather than bus for a number of reasons including greater comfort, speed and reliability, and as a result they pay a premium for this.
It is outrageous, therefore, that rail companies charge the same price as they do if you were to travel by train as they do for you to travel on a rail replacement bus service during engineering works or for some other reason.
It would be reasonable for rail firms to reduce fares by 1/3 for journeys which involve a rail replacement bus service.
