Closed petition Should we change the way we spell?
Closed on
The English spelling society (ESS), are proposing that due to our language being "tricky" for young children to grasp, we should change this to accommodate and thus make it easier for our youngsters to spell.
Under our current system recent studies have shown that English speaking children take up to 2 years longer to learn basic literacy skills than other European countries.
Under the new system ESS, would like to eliminate the use of silent letters, double consonants and change some words altogether.
Please sign if you would not like to change to the new system
