Rejected petition Make Welsh Baccalaureate optional for A-level students in Wales
Allow A-level students to have the option of whether or not they want to do Welsh Baccalaureate.
More details
Welsh Baccalaureate causes a lot of stress for A-level students alongside their other A-levels. Many students say that they do not want to attend their Welsh Baccalaureate lessons and feel the work is too much on top of their already intense workload. Many students say that they ‘hate Welsh Bacc’ which isn’t a good reputation for the subject. Most of the tasks students are asked to complete are very similar to the work asked of them in GCSE’s which makes it feel as if they are redoing the work.
