Rejected petition Ask for a change in wording on car insurance policies regarding theft of car

Asking the insurance companies to change wording when it comes to settlement of car theft from- at the insurers discretion - to at the customers discretion
Specifically when it is in relation to car theft

More details

Car theft is the unequivocal time in which the customer is 100% a victim. Other claims may be subject to facts / variables.
Currently customers are faced with the fact of having to have their car back if it is recovered and repairable even if it causes them serious emotional distress.
To reduce stress on the victim it would be more humane and compassionate if insurers asked on first report “if the car is recovered and repairable - would you want it?” Give the victim the chance to move on.
