Rejected petition: Listen to the people

Rejected on

The Government has established petitions in order for people both young and old to voice their opinion. Yet when Labour simply says no to 1,000,000 signatures, it completely disregards the whole idea of petitions, and belittles everyone trying to give their opinion in our *democracy*.

I want the government to listen. So that we can have real change that the people actually want. The government needs to stop introducing changes that majorities disagree with. It's a democracy where we pretend to choose. The government is running on its own terms.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do in order to "listen to the people". You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
