Open petition: Include Mindfulness in the Curriculum for Schools
Created by Disha Melachuri
Closes on
Childhood trauma can impact adult mental health and criminality. Mindfulness in schools could help build resilience and prevent long-term issues by intervening early.
We urge Parliament to support adding mindfulness to curriculums, promoting early healing and stronger mental health in future generations.
Some research shows mindfulness boosts student mental health, reducing anxiety and improving focus and self-regulation. UCLA’s Mindfulness Center supports its use in education to enhance emotional well-being. We urge policymakers to add mindfulness to school curriculums, helping children heal from early trauma and build resilience. We need a school system that prioritises mental health as fervently as it does academic success, ensuring the holistic development of every child.
