Rejected petition Children should be able to use their phones in their free time in school

I want the government to let children in secondary schools (whether they are independent, public, or boarding schools) to use their phone in their free time during school but their phones get taken away in pouches and given back to them by their teachers. School watches what they are doing on phones

More details

I want children like me to be free and have a more range of what they want to do in their free time. To be able to chat to their parents, or chat to each other within school. It will be much obliged if the government allowed them to use their phones in schools but they would be under supervision from the safeguarding (if they have one) lead team

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

Decisions about phone use during break time or free periods at school are a matter for individual schools, not the UK Government or Parliament.
