Rejected petition: Introduce a Poll based mechanism, that will automatically call for an election.
Rejected on
In extraordinary circumstances, whereby public opinion is one of a complete lack of confidence in its Government, a mechanism should be in place that automatically generates the need for a General election, which should be called immediately an official poll hits a certain level of (un)popularity.
In unprecedented circumstances (such as now), when it becomes apparent that the electorate have lost complete faith in its Government, the matter should be taken out of the hands of Parliament and a General election should automatically be called. Should a Governments official polling popularity hit 20% or under, the position of the Government is untenable and cannot, by definition, be seen as making decision in the interests of the electorate, thereby an Election is required.
