Rejected petition We want a national referendum on the introduction of Digital ID.
We want the government to organise a national referendum on whether or not to introduce digital I.D cards. This was never mentioned once in Labour's election manifesto and has just been announced as if it's a foregone conclusion. We, the people, have a right to vote on such a huge issue.
More details
This represents a profound change for Britain and we, the people, have a right to vote on such a big issue. There are passionate feelings both for and against the introduction of I.D. cards - so let the people vote. Labour did not ONCE mention this plan as part of any of its campaigning, nor as part of its election manifesto.
The people of this country have a right to vote on such a vital topic.
