Rejected petition Stop the loopholes for child maintenance not being paid

Stop parents actively seek ways to not pay the maintenance due. So many get away with zero taxable income yet can still afford to pay maintenance one example from child maintenance was being paid cash in hand. The children are the ones missing out and it’s unacceptable to put pressure on one parent

More details

The law needs to change to stop allowing people to juggle their finances to meet the criteria for a “no payment” plan. Two people have a baby it’s not one parents job to financially support that child for years with no support. The government needs to enforce more scrupulous laws and stop this. If the parent left paying for the child can’t afford it it’s looked at like neglect where as too many just get to walk away with no responsibility even though they have parental rights to said child.
