Rejected petition Stop the Government’s plan to overhaul GCSE science to make triple mandatory.
To scrap the planned changes to GCSE science and to find other ways to prioritise scientific education without causing emotional or mental harm to non-scientifically-minded students.
More details
Many young people already feel let down by this government, and to see plans to make their time in secondary education needlessly more difficult only serves to worsen this situation. Many young people feel depressed or even suicidal from the workload already and making it heavier will not improve their academic ability, but only worsen their state of living and shorten their lives.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
The Government announced that they are supporting schools to develop a triple science offer, ahead of introducing a statutory entitlement for all GCSE pupils. This means that triple science won't be mandatory for students to take, but schools must be able to offer it to students.
