Open petition: Fund free NHS dental care for people with epilepsy
Created by Tamer Robinson
Closes on
We ask the Government to make NHS dental treatment free for people diagnosed with epilepsy
People with epilepsy often suffer dental damage caused by seizures or the long-term use of anti-epileptic medication. This includes broken or chipped teeth, gum overgrowth, dry mouth, and enamel erosion.
These problems are medical consequences of epilepsy, not lifestyle choices, yet dental treatment for them is not covered under NHS exemptions. Many people struggle to afford essential dental care while managing a lifelong neurological condition
