Rejected petition Breast Health - Lets Break the Silence and Educate - Start young in Schools
To introduce the subject of breast health onto the school curriculum. To break the barrier of "taboo" and educate young girls on how to check their breasts for abnormalities and to understand the reasons of the importance of a professionally well fitted bra for both everyday and sport.
More details
It is important that the government supports the need to educate young girls through the curriculum at an early age with regard to their own physical development and breast health. This would raise awareness of how to check for potential lumps or other abnormalities and understand their own breast development and the need for a professionally fitted bra. This can not only protect them from the need for cosmetic surgery later in life but can also save lives and reduce costs on the NHS.

Why was this petition rejected?
We can't publish petitions when the request is something that's already happening or something that has been announced since you started your petition.
We think your petition is covered by Government or Parliament action already. If you'd like something else, you could start a new petition clearly explaining what it is.
Statutory guidance for Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) and Health Education already includes curriculum content on how to recognise early signs of physical illness or unexplained changes to the body, which may include changes to the body as a result of breast cancer.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
