Petition Review settlement rules for the skilled worker visa holders - ILR after 3 years
We call on the Government to review Skilled Worker settlement rules to allow them to apply for indefinite leave to remain (ILR) after 3 years but keep “no public funds” rule during ILR.
More details
We also want the Government to give ILR holders 50% off on immigration health surcharge (HIS) fees and make them eligible to apply for citizenship after 7 years of ILR. We believe this protects public funds, supports the NHS, retains skilled workers, and gives families stability. We think skilled Worker migrants help fill critical labour shortages and contribute significantly to the UK economy through income tax, National Insurance and IHS payments. However, long settlement timelines and uncertainty can lead to loss of talent, reduced productivity, and mental distress for affected families.
