Open petition: Hold public inquiry on safeguarding system and training in family courts
Created by Jessica Stanhope
Closes on
We think the Family Courts and social services, Cafcass, CPS are failing to safeguard children, overlooking evidence and allowing harmful practices. We want a public inquiry into accountability, what we see as systemic failings and bias, and effects of current procedures on child and family welfare.
Many families report similar issues: evidence dismissed, domestic abuse minimised, and children potentially placed at risk through what we see as poor assessments and training gaps. We believe there is no effective accountability when mistakes are made and that a public inquiry is needed to expose any systemic failings and help protect families from preventable harm.
